Travel & Service Fees

Fortress Signing & Notary • Las Vegas, Nevada • Effective date: 01/16/2026

Fortress Signing & Notary is a mobile service. This page explains how optional travel and service-related fees work so you can request an appointment with confidence.

Confirmation-first: No travel begins until the appointment is confirmed and any applicable travel/service fees are disclosed and agreed.

Clear Confirmation

We confirm travel/service fees and timing before dispatch.

Separate From NV Act Fees

Notarial act fees are statutory and itemized separately.

Disclosure-First

Optional fees apply only when agreed in advance.

1) Mandatory Nevada disclosure

Disclosure: Notarial act fees are set by Nevada law (NRS 240.100). Travel fees and non-notary services are optional and separate from notarial acts, and are charged only when agreed upon in advance.

2) Travel fee method (hourly)

FSN uses an hourly travel fee method and does not charge mileage-based travel fees. Travel time begins upon departure and ends upon return (or arrival at the next confirmed appointment).

Travel Fee Rate Windows (not availability)Standard Hours for scheduling may differ from travel-fee rate windows.

These rate windows describe travel fee pricing only. They do not guarantee appointment availability. Appointment availability is governed by our Standard Hours and premium appointment options below.

Rate WindowRate (Max)Minimum
Standard Hours travel rate window (typically 6:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m.)$15.00 / hour2 hours
Outside Standard Hours travel rate window (only when scheduling permits)$30.00 / hour2 hours

Travel is billed pro-rata after the first two hours. Travel fees are discussed and agreed to in advance.

3) Wait time policy

Wait time applies only when FSN arrives and is ready to perform services, but the appointment cannot begin due to signer/document readiness. If wait time may apply, it is disclosed and agreed in advance.

  • First 15 minutes: no charge
  • Thereafter: $25.00 per 15-minute increment

Wait time does not change Nevada statutory notarial act fees.

4) Convenience Time Windows

Appointments requested outside Standard Hours may be subject to premium convenience rates when available.

  • Early Bird (1:00am–6:00am): request + approval required.
  • Extended Availability (Tue/Wed only): offered outside standard hours when scheduling permits.

Availability outside Standard Hours is not guaranteed and is offered only when scheduling permits.

These fees are optional and apply only when relevant, disclosed, and agreed in advance.

7) Retainer-based business support (optional)

FSN offers optional monthly business support retainers for repeat clients who need ongoing coordination, recurring visits, or non-notarial business support. Retainers are designed for predictable service levels and smoother scheduling.

Important Retainer Disclosure

  • Notarial act fees are statutory and are always itemized and billed separately from any retainer.
  • Retainers may cover agreed non-notary services (e.g., business support/admin time, coordination, reporting), and may include a capped travel allowance only if specifically stated in writing.
  • Retainers do not guarantee availability outside Standard Hours. Premium appointment options remain request-based and require approval.

Retainers are optional and are offered only when appropriate for the client’s volume, locations, and service needs. Retainer terms are confirmed in writing before activation.

Retainer Support Levels (examples)
LevelDesigned forTypical inclusions (non-notary)
Starter RetainerLow-volume recurring coordinationPriority scheduling review, recurring appointment coordination, basic reporting/log summaries.
Business RetainerRegular service + admin supportCoordination + recurring visits planning, document pickup/drop-off coordination (if applicable), expanded reporting, non-notarial verification support where agreed.
Enterprise RetainerHigh-volume / multi-site needsMulti-site coordination, scheduled reporting cadence, operational coordination, and service batching for efficiency.

What retainers typically cover

  • Scheduling coordination and recurring appointment planning
  • Administrative support time related to agreed services
  • Reporting / documentation deliverables for non-notary services (when applicable)
  • Optional travel allowance only when explicitly stated in the retainer terms

What retainers do not cover

  • Notarial act fees (always separate and statutory)
  • Legal advice or document preparation
  • Unlimited travel, unlimited wait time, or unlimited after-hours availability
  • Third-party fees (printing, parking, tolls, facility fees) unless explicitly included

Retainer readiness & enforcement

  • Retainer clients must still meet signer readiness requirements (all signers present, acceptable ID, correct documents).
  • If a visit is canceled after dispatch or cannot be completed due to readiness issues, applicable travel/service fees may still apply, unless otherwise stated in the retainer terms.
  • Retainers apply to the defined scope only. Work outside scope is quoted and approved separately.

Retainers are structured for clarity and fairness—both for client expectations and scheduling integrity.

Interested in a retainer? Contact us and we’ll propose a written scope that matches your volume and locations.

8) Cancellation or inability to perform

If a request is canceled after dispatch, or we cannot perform due to requester/signer readiness issues (missing signers, missing ID, incomplete documents, refusal, etc.), the agreed travel fee and any applicable optional service fees may still apply.

See: Cancellation Policy.

Helpful tips to avoid delays

  • Include unit number, room number, and gate code in the address field.
  • Confirm all signers will be present and have acceptable identification.
  • Have documents ready and printed (if required) before arrival.
  • Use the notes field for parking/access instructions.
